Origins

From the days of yore of Season 1, emerged a leading figure and now Project Manager with Riot Games MEA. In the time between, Anas “Spirit Devilll” Amin explored every nook and cranny of the gaming industry and proved himself to be an all-rounder who cared deeply about the League of Legends community both in his own country and the broader region.

By Season 3–once he realized that he and his friend were not the only Egyptians playing LoL–Anas felt the need for a way to bring the community together to share their adventures on the Rift, get to know one another, and ignite their competitive spirit.

That was when he found out about a Facebook group called “League of Legends Arabic,” which had only 500 members at the time. He teamed up with its founders and developed its activities to better support the community. It now has over 170k members and is considered one of the biggest LoL communities in the MEA region.

Anas extended his community initiatives by organizing E-dawry, one of the first League of Legends tournaments in Egypt. With the help of his friends, his only aim was to allow his fellow players the opportunity to unchain their passion and experience the thrill of competition.

By 2018, Anas Amin had successfully organized over 2,000 online tournaments and around 100 offline events with major gaming entities. A year later, Riot Games’ Dubai office was inaugurated, and the Intel Arabian Cup, in its first edition, was introduced with Anas appearing as an analyst. Over the following years, he contributed to Riot Games’ competitive projects, including the Arabian League’s LAN Grand Finals in Egypt, initially as an admin and later promoted to lead admin, then to his current position today as a project manager.

Competitive Experience

Starting out in 2015, Anas succeeded in achieving the highest rank a player could ever hope for. He was quite the versatile player who was willing to take on any role, but mainly played midlane and support. Since there weren’t any official opportunities in sight back in his day, Anas and his friends would get together and participate in as many tournaments as available. In 2016, he competed for the first time on stage in front of thousands at GLSC, for a chance to represent his country internationally in one of the highlight experiences of his competitive career.

Memories

Throughout his diverse career, Anas Amin has enjoyed many extraordinary moments. However, the one that stands out the most is his participation in GLSC, where he played on stage in front of over 3,000 attendees. It was an extremely emotional experience that brought him to the verge of tears as the stadium echoed chants of his name.

The same experience also left him with one of his most painful memories. As Anas and his team reached the grand finals, they played an intense game and managed to make a great comeback. However, the enemy jungler made a decisive play by stealing the Baron, ultimately costing them the game and their chance of representing Egypt internationally.

Trivia

  • Out of all champions, Anas finds Fiddlesticks’ voice lines to be the most entertaining.
  • Regardless of the state of his games, you will always find him spamming Rammus’ OK emote.
  • In a heartwarming encounter, Anas found the love of his life at a watch party, and they are now happily married. The Rift, on the digital side, connected him with his best friend through its solo queue adventures.
  • His love for League of Legends has him sneaking in some games at work. Let’s hope his manager isn’t reading this.
  • The longest single game of LoL he’s played lasted for 105 minutes, and we’re really curious about how that happened.
  • When he’s not playing ranked, Anas likes to fling people around with Singed.
  • He also enjoys demonstrating his strategic prowess beyond the Rift by playing chess.
  • Naturally, that makes him both a Teamfight Tactics and League of Runeterra enjoyer. Yet, he seems to have the ability to pair those two with other solo-leveling games simultaneously. Talk about efficiency.
  • If Anas ever gets angry with you, just get him a mango ice cream. Trust us on this.
  • If you ever find him randomly laughing at his screen, just know he failed his flash.
  • When he was younger, Anas dreamed of becoming a math teacher. Nowadays, he would like to learn programming. Just big-brain things.
